Abstract
Objectives:
To find the frequency of postoperative nausea and vomiting in patients under general anesthesia in general surgery. To know about the suitable and effective method for the reduction of postoperative nausea and vomiting in patients under general anesthesia in general surgery. Methods The researcher used a random quota sample technique for sample selection. The below sample size formula provides us with the recommended number of samples, required to calculate the information. In this process, the researcher selects the respondents by age and gender quota. The total population was 475 and the result of the calculated sample size was 288 with a confidence interval of 95% and a p-value of 0.05.
Methods;
in this prospective, observational study the researcher used the random quota sample technique for sample selection .in this process the researcher select the respondents by age and gender quota .total population was 475 and the results of the calculated sample size were 288 with a confidence interval of 95 / and P value 0.05
Results:
A total of 288 patients participated in this research of which 174 (60).4%) were male and 114 (39.6%) were female among these 45 (25.4%) male and 85 (74.5%) female have post-operative nausea. Similarly $ (4.5%) male patient and 22 (19.2%) female patient have post-operative vomiting reported. Mostly 70 (77.7%) patients in the laparoscopic surgical ward and 68 (71.5%) patients in the laparotomy surgical ward were facing nausea problems postoperatively. And 35 (38.8%) of laparoscopic surgery patients and 25 (26.3%) of laparotomy procedure patients were having postoperative vomiting problems under general anesthesia.
Conclusion:
our study concludes that some previous research has shown many kinds of surgical process independent predictors of postoperative nausea vomiting or PONV during this research work the researcher concluded that PON is multifactorial for a patient risk can be better estimated by accounting for several independent predictors simultaneously
