Abstract:
Background:
Various anatomical measurement and invasive clinical test singly or in various combination can be perform to predict difficult intubation upper lip bite test and thyromental distance are claimed to have high predictability.
Objective:
The aim of study is to compare upper lip bite and thyromental distance all those point which are related to our study was included and those point which are not related was excluded from our study
Methods:
After receiving approval from North West Institute of Health Science literature review was done on articles of interest, generalized study was conducted further from which desired statements was collected and formed a new article. Different articles having different methods and materials. The main thing in these all-reviewed articles is the time period and age group of different patients. All the authors selected the samples from different ages and groups. The authors also used a time bench mark during the analysis
Results:
In our study, the incidence of difficult laryngoscope was 11.4% and failure to intubate 0.49%. None of the three are a suitable predictive test when used alone. Combination of tests added incremental diagnostic value.
Conclusion:
However, each test scored differently in terms of their sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, and predictive tests when compared to each other. Hence, it will be safer to use combination of tests which assess different aspects of patient’s airway. Key words: Difficult intubation difficult laryngoscope endotracheal intubation predictive airway test
